The 2010 ODCA Spring Meeting will be hosted by Gene Pittman in Talhequah, OK on May 8th.
Event Details
Showmanship clinic info: The Showmanship clinic is open to all that want to attend.
Cost will be $10 head. If you do not have a broke calf and would like to attend a $10 fee per family would be appreciated.
If you have extra broke calves that can be used by someone else attending the clinic and you are willing to share, please
let me know. The clinic is being put on by the McPeak's of Be a Champ show camp(http://beachamp.com/index.html). We are very lucky to have them, they are an excellent school. Please provide your own bedding, one bag per animal.
Bring food for the day and a bucket for water. Bring a show stick if you have one. All animals should be
washed and clean. Wash racks are available at the fairgrounds but time will be very limited. Show
Info: A show will be held with the animals brought to the showmanship clinic. This is good practice for you
and your animal. Classes will be decided as we know who will be attending. Sale information: ODCA member CA Jones has offered to be our auctioneer. We will not have pens for animals that are not halter
broke. You are welcome to bring your own pen or leave them in the trailer if you want to sell stock that is not broke to lead
but we will have no way to get them to the sale ring. Cost will be $10 head to enter them in the auction, plus a $15 commission
fee if they are sold. All animals brought to the show/sale should be healthy. Any animal with questionable
health will be asked to leave. All animals to be sold shall have their current registration papers and tattoo
matching that paperwork. All animals are subject to a reserve amount to be set by the seller. The seller
will have final say so in selling the animal. Animals that do not meet the minimum bid and are not sold during
the auction can be sold private treaty following the auction at the sellers discretion. The commission fee shall still be
paid to the ODCA to help support the cost of the show. Bred cows should have vet papers stating they are
pregnant. Bulls over 1 year that are removed from their trailer need a nose ring (can be a temporary type). Bulls
should have a recent fertility test and copies of all supporting paperwork for any testing that has been completed including
Chondro, Genotyping, PHA...these tests are not required to enter them in the auction but we will not announce them as Chondro
neg., PHA neg. or genotyped without the appropriate documentation. Animals entered in the sale only need
to be at the fairgrounds by 12:00 noon. Please email myself (debstites@msn.com) or PJ Breedlove (breedlove@sstelco.com) with information on any animals you wish to sell at the auction. Name, registration #, description, photo and reserve
amount. We will be printing up an auction sheet with this info so please get it to us as soon as possible.
